Bhakoot Dosha Meaning

Emotional rhythm and prosperity themes

Bhakoot reads the distance between the two Moon signs — 7 points when clean, zero in the 6-8, 2-12 and 5-9 configurations. Here is what those distances actually claim, and when the zero is cancelled.

Meaning

The challenged pairs: 6-8 (shadashtaka) — health and conflict friction; 2-12 (dwirdwadasha) — finances and family pull in different directions; 5-9 — progeny and fortune misalignment in the old texts. Cancellations: the same lord ruling both signs (e.g. Aries-Scorpio, both Mars), the two lords being classical friends, or the navamsa Moons landing in compatible signs. As with nadi, the cancellation analysis is where real matching happens.

Core Interpretation

Because bhakoot is pure Moon-sign distance, it is the koota most often contradicted by the rest of the chart: strong mutual 7th houses and a friendly Venus routinely outweigh a bhakoot zero in practice. Score it, check the lord-cancellation, then let the full charts speak.
